Effect of pre-marital behavior on the stability of a young family

Recently attention of sociologists, demographers, psychologists are increasingly attracted to a young family. This is due to a number of circumstances. In the early years of the marriage formed by the model of the future of family relations - the distribution of power and responsibilities, the spiritual relationship between spouses, parents and children - there is a complex process of adaptation of the husband and wife to each other is determined by the nature of the main conflicts and ways to overcome them. The decision on the number of children in the family, and the intervals between births are also often taken in the initial period of family life and, therefore, the study of a young family is directly related to fertility problems.

data statistics and sample surveys indicate that about 20% of all divorces accounted for by families, which lasted less than two years. In this case since the decision making by spouses divorce before applying to the court, and then before the formal dissolution of the marria

ge takes a lot of time, t. E. In fact marriages break up much earlier.

Difficulties in relations between the young couple are due, in our opinion, first of all, that in the modern family patterns of behavior of husband and wife have become less stringent. There has been a departure from the role of regulated forms of interaction: family relationships, the ways her organization often determine the situation and depend on the inclinations, capabilities and abilities of every member of this community. In the past, dominated by traditional patterns of behavior, the father of husband and wife-mother, when a man played the role of head of household, breadwinner and its support of social status, and a woman - a homemaker, housewives and educators of children. Now the massive involvement of women in productive activities, increase their education, widespread ideas of equality husband and wife often have similar social status and earnings, on an equal footing participate in family decision-making.At the same time, function in society representation on family roles and responsibilities of the spouses is not enough relevant reality: on the one hand, expectations of a certain part of the population are connected to the traditional family;on the other - there is a perception of a direct equality of men and women in the implementation of most of the family functions.

very acute now, and the question of preparing young people for family life. Before the task successfully coped parent family.Currently, however, it adopted a sample of relationships often can not be used by children without some adjustments. In addition, many young people spend the most important from this point of view, the period of life outside the home - in student dormitories or working, assimilating quite different rules, which are formed on the basis of installation.

In Soviet sociological literature the most extensively studied the causes and motives of divorce. As a rule, they are analyzed irrespective of the duration of marriage.Meanwhile, family destabilization factors vary considerably depending on the stage of her life.Drinking one of the spouses, adultery, the presence of other family more typical, in our view, for the breaking up couples with long experience. The stability of the young family is strongly influenced by factors that exist, often implicitly, in the time of the marriage. It is above all the personal characteristics of the newlyweds, the conditions of marriage, the various types of pre-marital behavior of the intending spouses.Often short decay unions associated with the ideal expectations of young people about the future of marriage, careless attitude towards him, insufficient knowledge partner.Important "risk factor" is also due to the forced marriage of the bride pregnancy or parental pressure.

The main task of our studies1 was to identify 1ii possible factors of destabilization of family life (going couple. Based on the analysis of Soviet and foreign studies of families of varying degrees of prosperity and divorcing couples were allocatedFeatures coming into Iraq, which could have a negative impact on the stability of a young family.

known that the duration of love should be seen as one of the important indicators of readiness for marriage. as revealed in a survey among divorcing the proportion of couples with a short period (less than6 months), pre-marital love is much higher than that of continuing to live in marriage. This is due to the fact that in today's society family roles far less regulated than in the past, and the success of a marriage depends more on personality compatibility of partners. Therefore, the period forwhich future spouses know each other, is gaining increasing importance.Meanwhile, among the surveyed had a high proportion of entering into marriage after a brief period of courtship (see. Table. 1).

The reason the collapse of a marriage often acts as the lack of common hobbies and interests.Apparently, the direct impact on the decision to divorce this circumstance does not have, but by limiting joint leisure activities of spouses and the scope of their communication with each other, it weakens their spiritual closeness and thus affects the strength of the marital bonds.Among the surveyed, only 30% of grooms and 40% of brides in answering the open-ended question could name those interests and activities that they coincide with the partners. The greater part of the intending spouses do not know this side of the personality of your future spouse, which could then adversely affect the development of the newly-married couple relationship.

The study also aim was to identify the frequency and causes of conflict during courtship.According to our data, brides and grooms often quarrel (see. Table. 2).In some respects, these differences can have a positive impact on the future success of marriage as the conjugal subsequently facilitate adaptation. At the same time the area unresolved problems can become a source of serious in future conflicts.Foreign researchers suggest that the differences in the premarital period correlated with the early occurrence of the first marital conflict, which often leads to rupture.

can already be regarded as an established fact that premarital pregnancy is a "high risk" factor in terms of the future success of marriage, especially in cases where the spouse is very young.Reduce the required period of courtship and preparation for the wedding, the young people are not psychologically ready for marriage. In addition, they are often economically unsound and need the support of parents or forced to interrupt his studies.According to our research, in the time of the marriage the bride was pregnant at 9% of couples from the responses of brides and 14% - by the answers suitors.

significant effect on the nature of the evolving relationship between the future spouses have their installation and expectations about family life.Mismatch settings can cause serious conflicts, especially at the initial stage of their life together. We looked at the installation in the areas of family life, where, according to previous studies, the most frequent disagreements between spouses.First of all, due to changes in the status of women in society, the need to combine her work and family roles of increasing importance of an equitable distribution of household responsibilities between spouses.Families in which adopted the egalitarian model of distribution of household responsibilities and installation of husband and wife in this regard are the same, are more stable.

The majority of the surveyed couples on our installation Responsibilities match at home (76%), while 59% of couples are focused on the same homepage load, men and women. However, a lot of couples (24%), in which the bride and groom have different opinions on this matter. And if in those cases where a more traditional model focuses girl (7%), the differences can be easily resolved, in case similar orientation boys (17%) can result in serious conflicts in a young family.

important in terms of the future success of marriage have views of the bride and groom on the question of authority in the family. Most grooms (78%) and brides (89%) focused on the egalitarian style of relations. An analysis of the pairs, the greatest divergence of opinion is observed in cases where the bride says that the head of household must be a man and his bride is focused on the division of "family power" (22% of couples). In 27% of cases there is divergence of views marrying in the very interpretation of the egalitarian principle: one of the partners would like to jointly discuss all the problems, the other considers it necessary to divide the "spheres of influence", however, in our opinion, these differences can not be the strong destabilizing factor..Only 4% of couples prefer an authoritarian style of relations in the modern family.

With regard to the preferred type of family structure and the corresponding power of special interest are the views of the future men and women with respect to a professional career woman. As a rule, if a woman is actively involved in professional activities, she enjoys more rights and in dealing with major marital problems. The question of the extent to which women should devote themselves to family or work, often the subject of disputes between spouses. It seems that opinions on this are to be agreed before the wedding. Most of the respondents in our survey believe that a married woman should work, but not to the detriment of the interests of the family (46% of brides and grooms 61%).At the same time 52% of the installation of the future spouses disagree: for example, 41% of couples girl focused on professional activities to a greater extent than it would be desirable to suitors.

One of the most important spheres of life of the family - leisure. The rational use of free time, is known to contribute to the stabilization of relations between spouses. The study of families of different degree of well-being has shown that successful marriages are characterized by joint leisure activities, and is focused on both the husband and wife.Consequently, the difference of opinion with respect to the bride and groom free time organizations in the future may lead to serious conflicts. An analysis of the relevant orientation in our study revealed a discrepancy of opinions: the bride is much more likely to prefer to spend their leisure time away from home than the young men (20% of cases); At the same time, 26% of couples future husbands want to be able to relax in your free time away from his wife.In 19% of cases the installation brides and grooms are completely at odds, which can not but cause future disagreements between them.

The study also aims to identify the extent to marry informed about the problems of marriage and the family from special sources. With special non-fiction literature familiar to only 15% of boys and 11% girls, listened to lectures about family and marriage 5 and 3% respectively. This once again demonstrates the need for dissemination of measures to prepare young people for marriage;more accessible to become literature on family life, more active promotion.

Thus, the study of the intending spouses revealed they have some characteristics that may influence the occurrence of conflicts in the early years of marriage and its success. This study is only a first step in the implementation of the study program for young families. In the future it is expected to allocate the types of families that differ in the degree of success of marriage in order to determine what impact pre-marital behavior and attitudes, as well as the organization of family life have on the success of the marriage. This will reveal the most destabilizing factors. The solution of such a problem, in addition to research, is of great practical importance for the development of youth training programs for family life.
